After an unsatisfactory evaluation from the National Center for State Courts, FWA teamed with the Center to expand and renovate the Cecil County Courthouse.

The expansion consisted of the addition of an elevator to transport prisoners from their travel vehicles directly to the prisoner waiting area and adding square footage to the entrance lobby to upgrade security, improve ADA accessibility and alleviate back-ups in security lines.

The marriage license/ wedding chapel office, the civil office and the land records and criminal records office were reconfigured to provide better workflow and visibility.

The project was fast-tracked with a construction manager, Turner Construction, working with the owners’ representative, Aramark.
