The Grove Market and Trail

Project Description

Under an open end contract with Harford County Government, FWA provided civil engineering, land surveying, and landscape architecture services for “The Grove,” an open air farmer’s market adjacent to the Harford County Agricultural Center. The 3,200 SF pole barn acts as an incubator space for vendors to provide county residents with local goods.

FWA’s scope of work included site design affiliated with the construction of the building, including topographic and boundary surveys, the design of stormwater management and water quality facilities, water service to the building, on-site storm drainage systems, sewer service and a new septic system using Maryland Department of the Environment’s established flow rates, site layout, parking, pad grading, and paving section. Landscape architecture plans and sediment and erosion control measures, including the submission of all required permits were also provided.

A trail study and alignment, concept stormwater management and erosion and sediment control plans have also been submitted to the County for a proposed 1.5 mile walking trail at the market.
