WABC Baltimore Networking Event

FWA Attends the 2021 ABC Baltimore All-American Networking Event

 

 

Team members attended the ABC Baltimore All-American Networking event, hosted by the Women in ABC Committee. The event was held at ABC’s new facility that houses their corporate offices and Construction Education Academy and was designed by FWA’s architects. Attendees enjoyed mingling, playing corn hole, and touring the new space while supporting the WABC Scholarship Fund.

Eastgate

Eastgate Industrial Park will consists of three buildings on a 243 acre site for a total of 2.5 million SF between the Amtrak rail line and the Aberdeen Proving Ground security fence. Phase 1 includes the development of a 656,800 SF Class A cross dock distribution center located at 1100 Woodley Road and a two mile extension of Woodley Road and associated public utilities to connect to Route 715 in the future. Eastgate is expected to bring up to 2,000 new jobs to the area.

Mid Atlantic Distribution Center

A winner of the 2014 Maryland NAIOP Best Industrial Park and Best LEED Warehouse for Building B, the fully leased Mid-Atlantic Distribution Center is another FWA success.  The 2 million square foot complex on 130 acres located in Perryman, Maryland current houses Bob’s Furniture, Electrolux and Sephora distribution facilities.  Both a benefit to the site and a challenge for design, the nearly flat property was engineered to meet the user’s loading dock requirements while meeting drainage and stormwater management standards for over 100 acres of impervious area.

Baltimore Processing and Distribution Center

FWA has provided continuous architectural, engineering and construction administration services for renovations at the Baltimore Processing and Distribution facility for the past eight years. The building contains over 1,000,000 square feet, seven stories of offices, three stories of workrooms for processing mail and a five story parking garage on site. FWA has completed numerous projects at the facility, with several of the major projects encompassing the replacement of air conditioning system for the communications room, the redesign of the HVAC system in the communications room, improvements to the power distribution system for the work rooms, replacement of HVAC, lighting, and fire alarm in the administrative tower, replacement of light and fire alarm in the parking garage, reroofing of the entire facility, exterior waterproofing to building exterior to alleviate water penetration at windows and joints, and replacement of light and fire alarms in the work rooms.

Enterprise Business Park

FWA provided site planning, engineering and surveying services to support the development of the 1.5 million square feet distribution center.  The re-development project covers a 91 acre site and is divided into two lots.  Lot 1, housing Clorox, includes a 945,720 square foot building with 267 trailer spaces. Lot 2 consists of a 577,500 square foot building with 273 trailer spaces and is occupied by Rite Aid.  FWA was responsible for all civil /site design to support the park.  Site features include a welcome center, shared but secure access and a shared stormwater management system.
