LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Frederick Ward Associates, Inc. (FWA) is searching for a licensed landscape architect ready to take on a leadership role and truly make a difference. Serving the Baltimore and Mid-Atlantic Region for 60 years, FWA is the single source for architecture, engineering, planning and surveying. Our focus is providing attentive service, innovative design and consistent results.We are looking for a candidate to serve as the leader of production. The licensed landscape architect will work closely with each discipline in the development of projects from beginning to end, focusing on budget, scheduling, design, client and consultant communication and coordination, QA/QC, construction administration, and project close out for all projects.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Registered Landscape Architect in State of Maryland
  • Full Knowledge of Zoning and Environmental Regulations
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong oral, graphic, and written presentation skills
  • Ability to lead design team to achieve client’s goals

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Master Plans, Site Designs, Landscape Designs and Subdivision Plans
  • Prepare Forest Conservation Plans, Wetland Delineations/Mitigation Plans and ability tomanage other Environmental Services
  • Administer the governmental review process and public comment process
  • Oversee development of specifications, reports and other documents to support site and landscape designs
  • Attend staffing meetings and collaborate in a team environment
  • Create and maintain project records
  • Represent FWA in professional manner as main contact for client and government during the project design and review process
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory and industry standards and updates in technology
  • Participate in professional, industry and community organizations

CIVIL/SITE DESIGN ENGINEER

Serving the Baltimore and mid-Atlantic region for 60 years, FWA is the single source for architecture, engineering, planning and surveying. Our focus is providing attentive service, innovative design and consistent results.

Qualifications required:

  • 4 year Civil Engineering Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in Civil Design with AutoCad and Civil 3D

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all facets of civil/site design documents with Stormwater Management design focus
  • Assists Project Manager with budgets, schedules, and sub-consultant coordination
  • Coordinates technical review processing and code reviews
  • Serve as the client’s point of contact
